The Bare Velvet
feel
When you touch Sphynx cat for the first time you are impressed
by hot velvet feel
of its skin. Sometimes people think that their skin feels
like the tender skin of a baby, others - like a peach heated
by sun. With no doubt to realize all the delight of these cats
it's insufficient only to see them. Without fail you have to
touch them! This is why we call our cattery
Bare Velvet Sphynx Cattery.

Our Kittens
BareVelvet Sphynx cats are raised in our home in Colorado
as pets. They are part of our family and are not caged. We
provide a loving disease free environment for our Sphynx cats
and kittens. Sphynx kittens are vet checked before going to
their new homes, and are guaranteed to arrive healthy.
Cat Allergies
Allergies are triggered by substances called allergens. Each year, millions of people suffer from seasonal allergy symptoms such as nose and sinus congestion, itchy, runny nose and itchy, watery eyes. Allergy to cats is extremely common, occurring in up to 25 percent of people with allergies. Cat allergy is more common than allergy to dog dander, which may be related to the potency of cat hair and dander as an allergen as well as the fact that cats are not generally bathed.
The major cat allergen, called Fel d 1, is found in cat saliva, dander from sebaceous glands in the skin, fur, and anal sebaceous glands. Other cat allergens, including albumin, are found in the urine, saliva and blood. See our Cat allergy page.

About Sphynx
- Sphynx cats and
kittens love their owners. They tend to get
along well with other cats, dogs, and children. Sphynx love
to play, and are certain to make your day that much more
enjoyable. Sphynx are very intelligent. When warming themselves
on your computer monitor, they love to chase your computer
mouse around the screen with lightning quick paws. This
demonstrates their curiosity and playful nature.
- Sphynx cats are so bare that
they are always looking for a warm place. In fact, their
favorite warm place is probably warming themselves in the
sunlight, on your computer monitor, or snuggling close to
you. So if you’re looking for a cat or kitten that is loving,
intelligent, and a very good companion, a Sphynx kitten
might be the one for you.
- Because of he naturally high metabolism of Sphynx cats,
they exhibit a strong muscular look, are very active, very
playful, and great companions.
- BareVelvet Sphynx
are raised in a loving, caring home environment. The kittens
are part of our family and everyday life. We know that you
will enjoy them as much as we do.
- A Sphynx cat is not always totally hairless; there can
be a fine down on the body, which makes the cat feel like
a warm peach. Some light hair is often present on the nose,
tail and toes. The texture of the Sphynx skin has been
likened to suede, a hot water bottle, a heated chamois,
but we think the feeling is just like Velvet,
